I could not be happier!
I had the pleasure of partnering with Matthew for the build of two guitars within the last year. I was in the market for a custom guitar to add to my collection, and my search led me to Matthew. The collaboration between him and I, in partnership with his outstanding craftsmanship, attention to detail, and creativity produced two guitars that I could not be happier with. Matthew adds an outstanding vintage look with a modern sound and feel that makes your guitar one of a kind. I look forward to playing these for many years to come and would recommend Matthew to anyone in search of a quality custom guitar.

Impeccable Attention to Detail
I own two basses and a guitar and after having played them on the road I can honestly say that the sound and playability are on the same level as my vintage gear that is too treasured to take out on tour. The building process with Matt was incredibly easy, his communication was perfect and he was able to work with me to find the perfect parts/wood for my dream builds. The feel and quality of the bass compared to something like a custom shop/ vintage is equal if not better in many regards. He is able to harness some of the mojo from vintage gear using incredible pickups and tonewoods, and his attention to detail is impeccable.

Best tele that I've played
Guys, you need to check out a McGibney guitar NOW! In no way am I paid or endorsed by these guys, just an extremely happy customer that stumbled onto an amazing gem of a guitar company right here in Denver, Colorado. I just got a McGibney Danelectro-Telecaster, and it’s fantastic! More on the guitar in a minute; here’s some background info: I play in a pretty big worship band, and some rock and post-hardcore side projects. My main go-to amp setup is an AC30 with Timmy, Klon, and a Tubescreamer, as well as a Timeline and Blue Sky, and that’s it. (Sometimes a whammy for some crazy stuff.) I have Gibsons, Fenders, and a PRS, and the McGibney definitely holds its weight, and even surpasses some of my other trusted axes! The craftsmanship and care put into this instrument is really amazing. Matt really pours his heart into his craft, and that comes through in the instrument.
The Danelectro-Telecaster is a Tele Deluxe style, with a 3-way switch, and 2 volumes and 2 tones, Porter handwound pickups (an Anthem PAF in the neck, and a tele custom bridge pickup). The neck on this beauty is simply phenomenal; I like fatter necks, and this one has just the right amount of “girth.” Matt hand-carves his necks, and the feel and finish on this one is really amazing. The body is almost completely hollow, so it makes for an extremely light, yet resonant body. The guitar just sings, and rings out amazingly. Cleans are full yet chimey, and overdriven tones just scream and sustain. Live, this guitar punches through the mix like butter, and we started recording some initial tracks for a couple worship tunes after Christmas, and the tones we’re getting with this baby are amazing!
Best tele that I’ve played/owned! If you’re a guitarist, regardless of what genre you play, do yourself a favor and check out McGibney guitars; really fantastic, amazing guitars with a tone and playability that you’ll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere! Thanks Matt, you really are a tone artist. Rock on!
